We are a little worried the kids might like 'medical procedures' too much. We took them for flu shots this weekend. Aeron didn't make a sound. Addyson actually giggled. Yes, giggled when she got the shot. The nurses were a little dumb-founded, said, "Well, that was a first!" and wished all their patients had that reaction.
Addyson and her songs. We always have to turn up the radio so she can hear it. She has about 5 or 6 songs that she just has to hear a few notes and she knows what it is .. often even before I can figure it out. She still says, "What's this song!?" And knows full-well what it is. It's not like we hear these songs every day or anything, either .. I'm still wondering how she knows them so well.
Aeron decided he wanted popcorn for his bedtime snack the other night during baths. I got him dried off and in his PJs first. As I was drying and dressing Addyson, Aeron came back in the bathroom holding two little snack bowls, "I got deese bowls myself!" He had pulled his little yellow chair (the seat is only 1 ft off the ground), got himself up on the counter, and grabbed the bowls off the second shelf of the cupboard. Monkey.
The kids had a beekeeper visit school the other day and gave them honey sticks to take home. Aeron just had to eat his when we got home that night. I poured it into a cup for him and he started eating it with a spoon. He had a funny look on his face and I asked him if he liked it. He said, with the funny look still on his face, "Kinda." It was so cute.. it's almost like he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and didn't want to say he didn't like it.
Addyson read us an ABC book before bed. The book was with lower case letters. The kids know their upper case, but not lower case. She had to ask me what some of the letter were because of this, but read it by herself..
"A is for apple. B is for baby. C is for alligator... H is for cone [hat that looks like cone]. 1 is for ice cream cone [I is for ice cream cone]. J is for necklace and earrings [that would be jewelry]... 1 is for tiger [L is for leopard]... P is for pants and shirt [pajamas]. Q is for king [queen]... S is for seastar [starfish]... W is for puppy [wolf]..."
Aeron is obsessed with growing "bigger and tronger" right now. Everyday we hear something about "getting taller", about "getting bigger and being able to reach da pedals on da tractor", about "I can do dis cause I'm trong," and "when I get big, den I can..." We may have drilled it into their heads that if they eat and sleep well they will get big and strong, just as a tactic to try to get them to eat or take a nap. We don't have to remind them of that anymore.
We went down to Woosterfest and enjoyed an elephant ear. Addyson asked me where his trunk was.
Aeron helping daddy clear some trees.
We took the kids to a pumpkin farm. They had a great time. We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch and picked out the "perfect pumpkins" (says Addyson). Cousin Emma and Wince and Shel (Vince and Michele to most people) came too.
The kids were extra excited to see a little train they could ride. What fun!

I think they have had one to many medical appts done if they laughed during the flu shot. My kids have to go in sometime soon for their shots. I hate getting them done I feel like all i ever do is put Preston through something else. Your post make me want to cry everytime. It is so awesome to see what they are doing and I can see my kids in them. I can't wait until our get together in a couple of weeks. This year should be so much fun. Are they getting to bowl? My kids have never done it so it would be cool and I am sure they would love it. See you guys in a couple of weeks.
