Imaginations

Addyson reading a book to Aeron. She can be quite the story-teller and he just sits and listens to her. She's probably the only person he doesn't constantly ask "Why..?"

Imaginations .. what would a three-year-old's world be without them.
I love how their little minds work. For quite some time, on any given day, we have two extra aminals roaming around our house. Most often Addyson is a kitten, and depending on the mood, Aeron is a kitten, a dog, a dinosaur, a lion... The kittens stay around the longest, and often we do not hear any words come out of their mouths for what seems like forever .. usually until mom or dad says, "Okay, no more kittens, you are Addyson and Aeron again." You can only take "meow" answers for so long.

Another game the kids play a lot is having little imaginary pets with them. Just today Addyson brought along two kittens (a black one and a white one), her toad, and her snake. We couldn't leave the house without them. Luckily, they all jumped on my shoulder before we got in the van, so I was able to let them all crawl back to her. Aeron normally has a baby alligator, kitten, and toad with him. Sometimes they have names, sometimes they don't. But they travel with us quite a bit.

Yet another game is "ice cream shop." When they are playing in the barn right now there is the perfect door without a window so we even have a walk-up window where we can order. The other day everything I asked for, Addyson went back to check and came back saying, "Sorry, we outta that." Aeron always bring back what we ask for.

Right now we are having a crash-up derby on the coffee table with match box cars. Oh, and I think we are about to have a marching, musical parade come through.

I found this masked-man the other night when checking on Aeron. That would be his blue baby draped over his head.
