We couldn't get enough of the fair. We went four days in all, I think, and the kids couldn't get enough of the animals and rides. I didn't let them ride with the "unlimited" passes until Wednesday, but ride they did. I lost track after 16 rides.. and we went back Thursday night and rode some more with cousin Izy and some free passes from Aunt Sarah. They had a blast. I would say the favorites were the bounce house and the dragon roller coaster. Here they got to ride in the front car..
Can't say there was a favorite on the animals (all of them!), but the last night we spent a lot of time in the horse barn because they were so friendly.
I love the fair, for the most part, but am so glad it's over. We can finally get back to some "normalcy." Matt is pretty non-existent between the BBQ and the bowling alley, we always stay later in the evening than planned so we have some late nights, and I always eat WAY too much. We took the kids to the demolition derby the last night. The kids loved it, but it was of course filled with questions upon questions. Addyson loved to find the cars that had pink on them, and Aeron liked when the cars had to be towed out at the end.
Aeron being goofy with a sticker..
Addyson was outside playing with Cayce one evening and came inside looking like this. I think Cayce found a piece of wood that had been in the firepit a few days ago, and of course Addyson had to play with it, too. She had to wash her hands for quite a while, which she loves to do anyway.
The kids had bagpipers visit school one day and really seemed to like it, so when Matt heard the COW bagpipers were putting on a free show at the square, I decided to take the kids. There were some dancers for a few songs as well, so it kept the kids' interest for a while.
Afterwards, we stopped off for an ice cream treat. These kids really know how to eat ice cream cones anymore. I didn't get anything thinking I would have to finish at least one cone, (superman ice cream wouldn't be my choice, but beggars can't be choosers, right?) but I think I had about 2 licks off each of theirs and that was just to lick around the cones as they were melting. The kids took care of the rest and finished them off completely on their own. They had blue mouths, teeth, and tongues by the end, but it's safe to say they enjoyed them.
