It has become quite the event when Matt leaves for work these days. We have the same conversation with Aeron when he finds out daddy is leaving for work, and it goes something like this:
Aeron: "Daddy go to work?"
Aeron: "Daddy go to work?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, daddy is going to work."
Aeron: "Dive back car?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, he will drive the black car."
Aeron: "Mommy dive big car. Daddy dive back car."
Mom or Dad: "That's right, Aeron."
Aeron: "Daddy dive back car on da woad?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, he will drive on the road."
Aeron: "Daddy go to bowdin' addey?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, he's going to work at the bowling alley."
Aeron: "Daddy come back?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, daddy will come back later tonight."
Aeron: "Okay, daddy dive back car?"
Mom or Dad: "Yes, Aeron."
He is SO into what car you are going to drive and where. And it's the same conversation over and over and over - the questions just keep coming. I was on the way to the bowling alley one evening to let the kids bowl a little while Matt was working. Aeron was quite excited.
Aeron: "I go bowl?"

Aeron: "I go bowl?"
Mom: "Yes, Aeron, you can bowl."
Aeron: "Shoes off?"
Mom: "Yes, Aeron, you can take off your shoes and wear bowling shoes."
Aeron: "Addson bowl?"
Mom: "Yes, Addyson can bowl if she wants to."
Aeron: "You watch?"
Mom: "Yes, I will watch you bowl."
Aeron: "I take my shoes off?"
Mom: "Yes, Aeron."
Aeron" "I bowl, mommy?"
Mom: "Yes, Aeron, you can bowl."
Aeron: "You watch?"
Mom: "Yes."
He is just non-stop.
He is just non-stop.
The other morning he came out and heard a bird chirping.
Aeron: "Zisten!"
Mom: "What is that?"
Aeron: "Bird. I heard it [cupping his ear], but can't seed it [shaking his head and shrugging]."
He's a barrel of laughs most of the time. From the moment he wakes up in the morning, he is just in high gear. He, no kidding, runs out of his room and down the hall in the morning to greet us. He is often just up and running around in circles yelling out "ah-ah-ah!" or anything else he can think of. One thing that does get him to sit still for a moment is "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" (yes, Elmo is slowly getting replaced!), but he is constantly yelling out the things Mickey tells them to, or repeating what Mickey says. He is a ball of energy, but he knows how to get a laugh, and when he gets one will keep doing it over and over to keep you laughing. He's a goof ball.
Aeron is also our workhorse. He loves to help carry things for you or just help out with what you are doing - even if what he is trying to carry is bigger than he is. He loves to put things away, and often will not get into, say, the bathtub, without putting the toy away that he was playing with last.

Addyson is still daddy's girl these days. She always wants to know "where'd my daddy go?" She is quite the talker as well, but we don't seem to have the lengthy conversations with her as much as with Aeron (maybe she just doesn't have the chance).
The other day she was in the car and told her brother, "I hurt. I need a ban-a-daid, Awon."
I was having them share a drinkable yogurt. Addyson got to drink first. She started sipping and left the straw in her mouth for quite a while, drinking and taking a break (yes, knowing exactly what she was doing). I asked her if we should give Aeron a turn. She looked at me and said, "not yet," and kept on drinking. That one still makes me giggle.
Addyson is slowly replacing Elmo with Mickey as well, but will still ask to watch Elmo sometimes. It's amazing what they pick up from the shows. There are several episodes of Sesame Street where Telly talks about his triangles and how many sides and angles it has. I walked into the room the other day to Addyson holding up a shape from one of her puzzles (it wasn't a triangle, but that's not the point) - she pointed to the sides and then the angles, "one-two-free sides and one-two-free angles!" This is exactly what Telly says when he holds up a triangle. Impressive.
Addyson is much more subdued than her brother, for the most part, but she gets her fair share of attention, that is for sure. She can be quite stubborn and knows what she wants, but she is still very polite. She will also "pick up, pick up" her toys on her own sometimes.
She loves her books. Just recently she has been sitting through longer and longer books. We read "The Cat in the Hat" all the way through the other day and she patiently turned each page for me. After we read a book together she will sit and flip through the pages herself, telling the story as she sees it.
We still aren't too far along on the potty-training, but Little Miss Addyson actually pooped on the potty the other night! We were all very excited.
