A Great Week

All kinds of pictures and stories this week. Must have been the extra day in the week called Labor Day or something.

Last weekend we had to wash the dog because he decided to walk around a mad skunk. The house smelled horrible for several days. The bath of course turned into a drenched-kid-show. It was a beautiful warm day, though, so it was a nice way for them to cool off.

The kids love to turn up the music and dance around the house.

They also love to play train right now.

They are very polite these days. They have caught on to polite comments twofold lately. We here "scuse me, daddy" "tank you, mommy," "I welcome," and "peese!" quite often. They say these things to each other and it's so neat to watch them use the comments in the right context. Aeron wanted something Addyson had the other day. She went up to him, took his face in her hands and said, "Aeron, say peese!"
They have also started saying, "I wuv you." Often this is before bed, and we do love hearing it. I know I have said it before, but this age is so much fun.

My knocking on wood didn't work last week. Aeron has figured out that he can climb out of his bed now. Not that he didn't know he could before, but now he actually does it. He's still doing really well, though .. most times he just climbs out two or three times before he falls asleep, but once he's asleep is a very rare occurrence that we hear anything until morning. He gets up after a nap or in the morning now and comes running down the hallway so proud that he got himself out of bed. Addyson is doing better and better with her bed .. only getting up a few times before falling asleep .. if at all. There have been several night now that she has not gotten up until morning as well. Our little kiddos are growing up.

Smooshed noses..

Let's see.. what else .. oh, our front door exploded. Matt was mowing and I stepped outside the back door for about 2 minutes to move some lawn furniture so Matt didn't have to stop mowing to move them. I walked back in and the kids were staring at the kitchen floor saying, "uh-oh." From afar I could see something all over the floor .. red puddles .. I wracked my brain trying to figure out where they would have gotten into koolaid. Nope, as I got closer I could see that it was blood. Aeron had stepped on some glass and cut his foot. Ouch. We figure the mower must have picked up a rock and flung it through one of the panes of the front door. Aeron also had some glass pieces in his hair, so we aren't sure where he was exactly when it broke, but other than a smaller cut on his foot, he was just fine, thank goodness. We couldn't find a scratch on Addyson. Boy was that glass a mess to clean up. There was no piece bigger than a quarter, and it was everywhere. We are very lucky that nothing worse happened. The kids are always standing at the windows watching daddy mow.

We had a wonderful Labor Day spent with family. We enjoyed good food, great weather, and just good times. We fished, ate, rode the gocart (Aeron of course could not get enough of it), ate, played games, ate, and just enjoyed the beautiful day.
