A Late Christmas Present and Sledding

Someone at work found a little puppy roaming their neighborhood last weekend. We weren't actively looking for a dog, but Cayce has joined our family. Cayce (said like Casey) is named after Edgar Cayce, an author/seer that Matt has recently found interesting. Cayce, from what the vet can tell us, is only about 8-10 weeks old and 17 pounds (although she is pretty big for being less than 3 months - who knows how big she may get - gulp). We are going through the house training and biting stages right now. Why not try to house/potty train three at once? Overall, Cayce is a good dog so far. She does wonderfully overnight, which is a blessing. She does like to chase the cat, but I think Tress might like to terrorize and cause her to chase more often than not (remember, Tress is still a kitten himself). Cayce will also tackle the kids if they run around her, so we are working on that as well. What can we say.. our house just wasn't chaotic enough! :) There aren't too many times that the right name comes out of my mouth the first time to try to get someone to stop what they are doing. On the plus side, the kids are learning to pick up their toys quite nicely so the dog doesn't take off with them.

We took the kids and Cayce sled riding both days this weekend. What a great workout for everyone. Aeron and Addyson just can't get enough sledding down hills. They barely stop at the bottom and they are already saying, "Again, again!"

Once again, Tress has to share his catbed. Cayce has found it to be quite comfy, although I have a feeling she won't be fitting in here much longer.

Below, the kids and dad are enjoying a book.

That puppy is going to be good size. To me it looks like part Great Dane. I am missing our dog just because she was our vacum at times when the kids would throw their stuff at her.

Hee, what a great doggie!! She does look like she's gonna get pretty big! That picture of her chasing Aeron down the hill is too cute. Too funny too that just a couple months ago you were pet-less...when it rains, it pours!(cats and dogs, apparently)
