Addyson, Our Entertainment

Who doesn't eat "roni and cheese" without sunglasses and a hat?

Addyson and her talking. This week she has said some things that make us just giggle and shake our heads in amazement. Her new thing this week, which expanded on the "okay" from last week is "yea, okay" or "okay, yea!"
Mom: "Addyson, do you want to go outside?"
Addyson: "Yea, o-kay!"
Mom: "Addyson, please go see where your brother is."
Addyson: "Okay, yea."

Daddy was going downstairs with the kids to get in the car, and he was telling Addyson to be careful on the steps. She still mentions that she fell down when she gets to the steps. He asked her if she needed help and reminded her to be careful. "No, I careful," she said, and went down herself.

Aeron was fussing the other morning about something and she went up to him, put her hand on his shoulder and asked, "Honey, problem?" several times. I think she has heard us say, "Honey, what's the problem?" a time or two.

Addyson loves to gives hugs and kisses .. especially if she gets in trouble or hurts someone's feelings. If she gets yelled at for something, she comes over and says, "hug" and then "kiss." The other day she made Aeron mad, and in the next moment she was making him give "hugs" over and over and over. She is always thinking of "brother," too. If she gets something, she will not go until she gets one for "brother, too?" If she gets juice, she has to make sure Aeron is also getting a cup. She was picking a flower the other day, and she had to pick another one for "brother." She'll take it to him and say, "here-go." Aeron every once is a while is now "Anon."

She is starting to clean up after herself. She plays with my shoes, walking all over the house with them. If she got them from the closet, she will often take them all the way back there after she is done. Before baths the other night she was playing with an empty egg carton. She was sitting on the kitchen floor ripping it to pieces when I left her. She came walking in for her bath a few minutes later and when I went out there the next time to clean up, all the pieces of the egg carton were in the trash. Often times she does better when she just isn't told to do something. :)

Addyson has this funny way of waving "hi" when she sees us, and not actually saying "hi". She waves to us in the mornings, she waves when we come home. The other morning at 3:30 she woke up (this doesn't happen often), so I changed her since she was up. I kept the lights low and kept things quiet, and as I changed her diaper, she smiled and waved at me. Tell me that doesn't make you giggle even though you can't see straight.

She has a wonderful way of not falling asleep when she is supposed to. It seems like each of the kids get into these phases every so often at bedtime. For the longest time they fall asleep with no problem at all and then all of the sudden, for a few weeks, they get into these little funks. Addyson right now will go to bed without a fuss, but she will sit in there and talk very loudly or sing for the longest time. When we go back in there to quiet her down she is sometimes hiding under her blanket just playing away and the curtain is pulled way over to her side of the window. You can hear her talking about "Elmo," saying, "honey, come on!" counting "one, two, free, four, sick, nine," saying her ABC's "A, B, C, D, A, C" (these are the only four letters right now), or if Aeron happens to be fussing when she is trying to fall asleep, she will say very loudly, "brother, hey, brother!" She is the queen of not-falling-asleep-without-somoene-coming-in-to-tell-her-to-settle-down right now. Oh, and she actually wakes up singing, too!

Oh yes, our Addyson keeps us laughing on a daily basis.

Here she is after a fun evening of playing in the dirt with her cousins. Like always, she loves to get messy.
