"Hurray, Make Way, for the Little, Furry, Red Monster Parade"

The chairs that came with the new table have brought Addyson and Aeron some major climbing practice. They use these chairs to climb onto everything. Here they are just watching out the window, because they can't just stand on the floor and look out, for goodness sake.


Addyson and her "baby". This little pink bear/blanket thing is never too far from her. Aeron still has his blue baby as well, which came from the NICU. There are times that one or the other will grab the opposite baby and start running. Usually it's Aeron taking pink baby and Addyson running after him. Sometimes she whines after him until he gives it up (sometimes she has blue baby to try to get him to swap) but other times she chases after him giggling and it's a game.


This is another new thing they have started. They climb on the bench and play with the door knob. The light switch is also right there and we see the lights go on and off, on and off.


We took the kids to Kobilarcik's Friday evening. This is a couple that lives in Wooster that goes more than all out each Christmas with a "Santa In Motion" display. They enclose their huge front porch and there are tons of snowmen, elves, santas, animals, angels, Disney characters .. just about anything you can imagine .. all moving in their own little way. Santa was there and the kids were a little frightened, (sorry, the picture turned out horribly blurry) but they were mezmorized by the decorations.
There is lots of snow on the ground here. I think there were two days this week where it did nothing but snow. We brought in some handfuls of snow to let the kids play with. They rather enjoyed it .. especially eating it. Addyson dove right in and said "brrrrrrr" while Aeron was a little more cautious at first.


Aeron likes to squeeze into this container. It holds their blocks and is very narrow, but somehow his little butt fits right in there. Here he is probably watching Elmo and the "Little Furry Red Monster Parade" Sesame Street episode. We have this on DVD and I think we watch it on average at least three times a day. Until now they could have cared less about watching anything, but we are now fully engaged in the "favorite movie phase." First thing in the morning either Aeron says "MaMo?" or Addyson says "Elmo?" as they run up to the TV. They love Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Ernie the best. I think I know the whole episode by heart.

Just have to share a very cute story quick. The kids were ready for bed and we were watching the above-mentioned movie for the final time. Addyson was sitting in front of me so I was playing with her hair and running my fingers through it. I didn't notice, but I am guessing Aeron was watching me at some point. A little while later Aeron came over and sat down on my lap, very close to Addyson. He reached over and started playing with her hair (I had stopped some time before this.) He didn't pull one bit .. he just played and ran his fingers through it for several minutes, and Addyson loved it. It was one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. At one point he even reached over and just put his arm around her shoulder. I think my heart melted. He had been a little difficult for part of the day just whining and crying at every little thing, but it's moments like this that just make you forget those more difficult times.
