5 Bundles of Joy

The kids did great at the dentist appointments the other day. Teeth look great, and they did a great job of sitting still and opening wide. Addyson even had her first flouride treatment.

Addyson and Aeron requested Super Kid ice cream the other day .. it's this flourescent blue, yellow, and red hand dip ice cream. When we were watching lots of ballgames this summer, they would have it once a week or so, but it has been a while, and they were missing it. It must be tasty, but it's very good at turning everything blue.. lips, teeth, faces, and hands. Oh, and you get bright green poop the next day. :)

So this stray 'Mama Calico' has had a litter of kittens in our barn two summers in a row now (and this will be her last, by the way! :) ). She pretty much only comes around when she's looking for a good place to have them. I saw this litter for the first time soon after the first of August, and we would peek in on them every once in a while, but be sure to give them their space. In the last week or so, the kittens have ventured out and we have been playing with them daily. The momma is very patient and doesn't seem to mind us playing with her babies. After a while, she sticks her head out and meows and we know it's time to put them back so they can eat. You can imagine how much fun it is for the kids. They are so adorable .. 5 of them, and yes, they all have names already. Addyson loves to corral them all in her legs, but has the hardest time keeping them there since they go in five different directions. Aeron likes to pick up one at a time and pet it for a bit, then go play, only to come back later and pick another one to play with. We have Dora, the white and orange kitty; Blackie, the black one, of course; Shadow, the grey one; Cheddars, the orange one; and Cali, the calico. Adorable.

Addyson and Aeron are loving Pink Panther lately. There are no words, just music.. and there doesn't really seem to be a plot to the episodes other than Pink Panther causing problems for the poor guy that is always after him, but hey, it's entertaining to them for some reason.

I think we may have been swimming a little too much this summer or something. I went in to check on Addyson the other night .. she dove under her pillow. She raised her head up, took a breath, then dove down again .. up and down again .. and again .. I tried not to laugh out loud and wake her up. I asked her if she was swimming in Grandma's pool. She nodded. I let her swim a little longer and then told her I was drying her off and putting on her PJs. She nodded again and finally rolled over.
