The kids and I took another zoo trip this weekend with some friends (thanks, Robin, Bridget, and Simon!) We make the trek to Columbus, and had a great time. Addyson will tell you she saw the "edephats and inocerous," and she's right. We saw both pretty close-up, and they were fascinating. Aeron (and Addyson) really enjoyed the train ride. Aeron walks around the house strutting and singing, "cugga-cugga-choo-choo!" They loved the monkeys.. they were a hoot to watch, and we saw some awesome marine life as well. The tiger and lion were a hit. The kids really enjoyed watching the penguins jump into the water, although they didn't do it often enough if you ask them. It was a beautiful day and all in a all, a very good one.
That evening, we also made a quick trip to find some pumpkins for the porch and some smaller ones for the kids to play with. They had a blast rolling them down the hill and chasing after them. Today their cousins were over to play, so they had two pretty full days and boy did they crash tonight. :) The pumpkins have been taking baths with them lately.
Mr. Sensitive and Easy-Going is back lately. He went away this summer around vacation time when he was not feeling well, but he seems to have made his way back. Aeron can be such a little cuddler and just down-right sweet. He's back to being pretty easy-going when you ask him to do something or it's time to leave somewhere, but he's still our ball of energy. From morning until night he is jumping off chairs and just running from place to place.
Addyson continues to be our strong-willed-knows-what-she-wants girl. A good ol' free spirit. She wants to do things her way, but also wants to please you when she can. She has the most adorable laugh, especially when it's something Aeron or daddy is doing that really gets her going. She's content to sit and read or color for the longest time and is head over heels into Dora the Explorer right now.
Someone asked me recently if the kids often play by themselves or most often play with each other. I had to stop and think, but I would say 9 times out of 10 they are doing the same thing. They just don't know any different. They definitely have their little games they play only with each other that sometimes have us looking at each other like, "what the heck are they doing?" They do like different things and will do different things, don't get me wrong, but for the most part they play together .. no, not always very nicely .. but they always make up and are soon back at whatever it was they were doing.
