Q & A at One Year Old (9 mo. corrected)

At one year old and just over 9 months corrected, we sat down for a little Q and A with Addyson and Aeron:

Question: What time to you get up in the morning?
Addyson: What ever time my brother wakes me up. Sometimes I sleep through it and sleep in until 8 am or so.
Aeron: Sometime around 7:30 am.

Question: What do you eat?
Addyson: Three or four bottles full of scrumptious formula a day.
Aeron: And we split 2 jars of baby food for lunch and 2 jars of baby food for dinner. Cereal, veggies, fruit, meats, yogurt, pretty much anything.
Addyson: And if mom or dad is eating something, we mooch off of them, too.

Question: What do you like to do?
Aeron: I LOVE to dance – sometimes even when there is no music. I also like my books, especially the ones that have something to touch and feel. And I like the remote and phones and things like that that I’m not supposed to play with. I like peek-a-boo, and I’m trying to learn bye-bye, which I only do sometimes, as well as slapping 5.
Addyson: I like whatever Aeron is playing with at the time. I like to make noise and bang things around. I like my books, and the remote and phones that beep. I also like to play peek-a-boo and have started to try to put the towel over my face myself. Oh, and I still like to clap. I only wave bye-bye sometimes. I like to snoot at things and wrinkle up my nose. I like to stand up at the couch or tables, but need help getting up there. I also like to stand on the couch and dance and bounce around.

Question: So do you sit and play or are you always on the go?
Addyson: I like to sit and play. But, I am getting more mobile. I can scoot a little on my butt and have learned to go from sitting, to my belly. And I just started kind of army crawling to pull myself forward. Usually Aeron has something I want, and that is great motivation. I can pull myself up on my knees, but not to my feet yet. I also like to roll around.
Aeron: What is sitting and playing? I would say I don’t do that. I am always crawling around and pulling myself up and cruising around the furniture and making my parents walk around holding my hands and looking out the window and peeking around corners and under tables and finding my sister and making her laugh and kissing myself in the mirror and dancing to music and going to the kitchen to play with the dog food and water and look at myself in the dishwasher and going to the bathroom to stand up at the tub. And I can let go while standing and balance myself and I can do that for almost 10 seconds at a time and I think I might just take off walking one of these days. Mom bought me new shoes to walk in.
Addyson: Can we say ADHD?

Question: Who takes better naps?
Addyson: Oh, that would be me.
Aeron: Yes, that would be her, but I do pretty good, too.

Question: Who eats better?
Aeron: Me! I know, you wouldn’t know it looking at us. Somehow I end up eating 2/3 of the jar of vegetables. But I don’t mind because I like my veggies.
Addyson: Vegetables are over-rated. I sometimes open my mouth for that stuff, but give me a jar of fruit or yogurt any day! Oh, and bring on the puffs and Cheerios. I can eat those by the handful.

Question: So do you like each other?
Aeron: Oh yes, I love Addyson. When she giggles, it makes me giggle. And I like to show off and make her laugh. But I can get mean and pull her hair sometimes.
Addyson: I love Aeron, too. He makes me laugh. He will get things down from the coffee table so I can play with them. But watch out if he starts taking something away from me, because I can get mean too. I don’t know if I know what I’m doing, but I go after him with my mouth open!

Question: Do you like your baths?
Addyson: LOVE THEM! I like to splash around like a crazy-woman. The other night I got on my belly and flailed around until all the water drained out.
Aeron: Yes, I like my baths. But I always get yelled out for standing up. I like to splash, too, but not quite as much as my sister, the fish.

Question: Do you like to talk?
Aeron: I do. I say da-da and ba-ba all the time. And I make noise just to hear myself.
Addyson: I am so over the da-da ba-ba thing. I used to say them all the time. Now I like to make new sounds like dat, fu-fu, deed-le, bum-pa, and dodden.

Question: How many teeth do you have?
Aeron: 6
Addyson: 5

Question: And how about sleeping through the night, how do you do with that?
Addyson: We do pretty well. Bedtime is around 8pm most nights. Sometimes a little earlier if we are fussy and tired, and every, every once in a while a little later if there is something going on. I get my bottle for the night and they lay me down and I usually go to sleep on my own.
Aeron: I take my bottle for the night and then like to be rocked to sleep. But I am getting better at just being rocked a little bit and falling asleep on my own. On a normal night we don’t wake up until morning. Every once in a while one of us will have a bad dream or a tooth is bothering us and we’ll wake up once or twice overnight so mom or dad has to come rock us back to sleep, but not usually.

Thanks, guys, we’ll have to do this again!
