Let's see what has happened since last time..
We had our first corn on the cob of the season! Yummo! (I don't know how big of a deal this is in most families, but this is huge around here!) Aeron and his strange sense of time told us, "We haven't had that for 20 years!"
We attended a wedding.. lots of dancing and questions by the kids. Addyson had fun with her dress and a vent..
We've had some bad storms so far in June. Addyson overhead someone say something about a tornado warning and I later heard her tell Aeron, "There's going to be a bad tomato!"
The kids attended Summer Camp at the College of Wooster Nursery School last week and had a ball. They went five days for 3 hours a day and did lots of exploring and crafts. They toured the Ohio Light Opera, the COW library, a construction site, enjoyed the sunshine, and just had a blast. It was fun to see their friends and teachers again.
We took the afternoon today to visit a place called Rolling Ridge Ranch somewhere down between Millersburg and Berlin. What a neat place. We took an hour long horse-drawn wagon ride around this huge ranch and stopped to feed all sorts of animals. Lots of deer and pot-bellied pigs (and their newborn babies), but also antelope, buffalo, long-horned steer, zebras, donkeys, ostriches, camels, a kangaroo, and all kinds of things I don't remember. The wagon would stop and everyone would hold out their buckets or hands full of food and the animals would come right up and eat. Addyson kept saying, "This is so much fun!" They also have a petting zoo, where the kids held bunnies and baby ducks, touched a baby alligator, talked to some monkeys and birds, and pet goats, lambs, and a camel.
The kids are enjoying watching their garden grow. The sunflowers and corn are doing really well. The lettuce is looking pretty good, and we even have some pumpkins and watermelons giving it a good run. We'll see if we get any melons or gourds out of them. I'll have to get some pictures on here, especially closer to harvest time.
