"Why?"

No new pictures.. amazingly enough, I didn't have any pictures of the kids this week to post. These are pictures from their 3-year shots around February earlier this year.

Aeron has become our "why" child. Everything and anything you say, he responds with, "Why?".. "Why dis?".. "Why dat?" We take pride in the few times that we have actually answered the whys until he is satisfied. There are other times I have to say "Aeron stop talking." That, of course, is followed by "why?" Yea, you can't win. I love three-year olds, though. Just tonight I was rocking him a little before bed. He was talking non-stop - something about how he was going to work at the bowling alley when he gets big and mommy and daddy are going to come see him there when he does. When I finally laid him down in bed and he still wouldn't stop yapping I told him, "Aeron, it's time to stop talking now, please." He, surprisingly enough, said, "Okay, momma." He was out in a matter of minutes from the long weekend we had. My mom was the lucky one who rode with him on the horseback ride in Tennessee and she said he didn't stop talking the whole time .. the ride was over 45 minutes long. He is constantly asking questions. And keeps us cracking up.

Potty-training has been going very well lately. The kids go for days with no accidents now, and even have some mornings they wake up dry. There was a time I never thought we would get here, but I knew it would have to happen eventually.

Addyson is loving to help these days. She still makes her bed most mornings. She straightens our rugs when she sees them crooked, she likes to help in the kitchen, and she will feed the dog all on her own when I ask. This doesn't mean that she is always Ms. Helpful .. I mean, she is still three :), but she does like to help. She still loves her kittens. Any chance she gets, she wants to go to the barn and the first thing she does is find the little white kitten and haul him around.

I am hoping with all my might that these days slow down a bit. They start preschool in exactly one month. I love watching them grow up and become little independent people, but the selfish part of me wants them to stay little for a lot longer.
