Fickle, Fickle, Fickle (oh, and a Raisin mishap)

Fickle. I have said this word more in the last week than I ever have in my life. The kids just giggle when I say it over and over, but it's so very true right now.

Out on the swingset they want to swing, but as soon as I set them in the swing and push two times, they want out because they want to slide .. down one time only to run to the barn to get the battery-powered truck.

Aeron woke up this morning and said, "watch Elmo." I turned on the TV and went to a saved Sesame Street on the DVR, but as soon as it started playing he yelled, "no Elmo!" What!!?

Mom: "Would you like juice?"
Addyson: "No, milk." I go and get her a cup of milk.
Addyson: "No.. juice!" Sheesh.

A new favorite treat.. suckers.

Guess how long it took to sweep the living room today. They just love to help.

So I was driving the kids to the daddy's softball game today. Aeron had a cup of raisins and Addyson a cup of Cheerios. They were sitting back there happily snacking as I drove. Soon, Aeron started whining a bit and saying something like, "Get it out." He said this a few times and finally I snuck a peek to see what was going on. It took me no more than a second to see that he had stuck a raisin up his nose. It still makes me laugh just thinking about it, but obviously he didn't think it was so funny so I tried to control my giggles. I told him to let it alone until I could pull over, but by the time I found a spot he of course had pushed it further up than I could reach with my fingers .. not to mention his nostrils are tiny. Luckily I had my purse with me and in it I had a pair of tweezers. With the tweezers it was pretty easy to dislodge the nice plump raisin (of course it wasn't a small shriveled one) and he was nice and happy again, snacking on more raisins in no time. I reminded him that raisins are for his mouth, not his nose, and then I crawled back up to the front and off we went.
