Worms, Toads, and Sesame Street!

Playing outside, of course. They would kick these balls down the hill, go down and get them, and come up through the trees over and over.


We were moving some rocks and pulling weeds and found some worms the other evening. Addyson was right in there wanting to touch and hold them. Aeron wanted to touch them, but as soon as he got close he had to think twice about it. He didn't want them to squirm away, but he didn't want to hold them, either. He did end up touching them a few times, but he's just as sure about those squirmy things as Addyson.

Same thing with the toad we found. Addyson would have held it all evening, while Aeron wasn't even sure he wanted to touch it (although he was pre-occupied because the tractor was out as well) .. but was mad when we put it in a safe place so the toad could go night-night .. the only way they would even think about putting him down and leaving him alone.

Oh, and of course Addyson had to give him a kiss - and so far, no warts..

But the highlight of the week.. we saw Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Zoe, and the whole gang in Canton at a Sesame Street Live! production. The kids loved it. Addyson sat in awe for the longest time without moving with a smile on her face. Aeron watched pretty much the whole thing, but while watching he was jumping from chair to chair, from lap to chair, playing with the stadium fold-up chairs.. his attention span just isn't quite like his sisters, but they both really enjoyed it, and did really well. Every character that came out, they were yelling out who it was and were asking for them to come back when they left. It was a great outing for our little family. We had really good seats, but the pictures didn't turn out real great just because of the lighting, so I don't have too many to post.
