Another Q&A Session

At 16 months old (12 1/2 months corrected), we again sat down for a little Q and A with Addyson and Aeron, asking the same questions as last time. Okay, so we didn't actually get to sit with them this time. We more or less followed them around, firing questions, and they answered as they played:

Question: What time to you get up in the morning?
Addyson: Usually around 7:30 - 8am.
Aeron: Same here.

Question: What do you eat?
Addyson: Three bottles of whole milk, some juice, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We eat about half baby food and half real people food now.
Aeron: We still love mooching off the parents. We also like to return the favor and feed our parents Cheerios and peas, but they don't seem to open their mouths quite as wide for the peas.

Question: What do you like to do?
Aeron: I still LOVE to dance. I like pushing buttons. I like walking around talking with my hands and pointing at things. I love books - I grab one and sit on someone’s lap so they will read it to me, although I really only like to read about 4 pages before taking off. I like peek-a-boo, waving bye-bye, and blowing kisses. I like being chased, playing outside, chasing the vacuum all over the place, riding ride-on toys when someone pushes me (especially the baby stroller when Addyson pushes me), and I like to push toys around. Oh, and I like to play with balls - throwing them, chasing them, kicking them, I love tractor rides with dad, and I like to give people their shoes when I know they are getting ready to go somewhere. Sometimes dad doesn't know which shoes he wants to wear, so I give him 4 of them. I know where mom or dad's nose is and where my belly is.
Addyson: I LOVE to climb! On, under, over, so I can sit in, anything I can climb, I'm there. I like pushing buttons and reading books, too. I will also grab a book and sit on someone’s lap to read it, especially if Aeron is already there. I also like to play peek-a-boo, wave bye-bye, and have started blowing kisses. I like to playing outside and pushing toys around (especially Aeron in the baby stroller). I also like being chased, and chasing the vacuum. I like patting the dog, but try to touch his paws, which he doesn't like so he gets up and walks away, so I follow him and start all over. I also know where mom or dad's nose is and where my belly is. My parents tell me I'm goofy because I like to laugh at myself and just be silly alot.

Question: So do you sit and play or are you always on the go?
Addyson: I like to sit and play, but I am on the go most of the time. I like to pull myself up on everything and cruise around. I have started to take a few steps between mom and dad, but get around by crawling very quickly. I can stand without holding on to anything for quite a while now, too.
Aeron: I do sit and play sometimes, but am on the go most of the time. I walk around and can almost run if I want to, although I can be pretty clumsy.

Question: Who takes better naps?
Addyson: We both can take good naps, and both can take not so good naps.
Aeron: We still take 2 naps a day, but we might be getting close to just taking one long one a day.

Question: Who eats better?
Aeron: Still me! I just burn all my calories running around all day, so I need to eat a lot. There isn't much I won't eat. Put it in front of me and I'll open my mouth.
Addyson: I'm a little more picky with my eating, but I eat enough .. look at me .. plenty of cushion!

Question: So do you still like each other?
Aeron: Oh yes, I love Addyson. When she giggles, it makes me giggle. And I still like to show off and make her laugh. I like to get in Addyson’s crib and play with her after naps. We do have some jealous bones, of course .. when Addyson is on mom or dad’s lap, I usually want up there too.
Addyson: I love Aeron, too. He makes me laugh. But I do like my toys and books, and especially the ones Aeron has .. I pull them away and scream at him and shake my arms sometimes. We do fight, but always look for each other when the other isn't around. We like to play with each other in the highchairs while we are supposed to be eating. We try to feed each other Cheerios and point to things on our faces and then giggle.

Question: Do you like your baths?
Addyson: Oh yes, still like them, but now I also get in trouble for standing up. And we love the swimming pool.
Aeron: Yes, I like my baths, too. We like to splash around, but I still get in trouble for standing up.

Question: Do you like to talk?
Aeron: Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah! Um, yes. All the time. I say da-da and ma-ma, but mostly I just ah-ah-ah and make noise.
Addyson: Me too. But I like to actually try to say words. Da-da, ma-ma, and all kinds of things. Right now I say what my parents think is "Go Back", but they just don't understand what I am trying to say.

Question: How many teeth do you have?
Aeron: 7, with 3 or so trying to poke their way through, including some molars. Ouch.
Addyson: Still just 6.

Question: And how about sleeping through the night, how do you do with that?

Addyson: We do really well. Bedtime is about 8pm most nights. I get my bottle for the night, and rock for a few minutes, and they lay me down and I usually go to sleep after a bit.
Aeron: I take my bottle for the night, rock for just a few minutes, and I fall asleep really well on my own. Once we are down for the night, we are out until morning.
