Back Seat Drivers

For some reason our kids are very concerned about how fast Matt and I drive. They always ask if we are driving the speed limit so the pe-weese won't pull us over. It used to be they told us to "Drive faster!" My answer to that was always that I had to drive only the speed limit so the policeman wouldn't pull us over.. so I guess it's my own fault that the "speed limit monsters" ride with me every day now. They always ask why I'm stopping at the green lights (waiting to make a left turn) and want to know if the other car was a good driver when I pass them or they pass me. I believe I may talk to the other cars quite a bit .. you know, because I'm a great driver and everyone else is not. :) The kids have picked up on this and it is 20 questions (mostly from Aeron, of course) on why I passed that car or if the other car was driving good or why was dat car not wistening to you, mommy? Oh, and don't forget to "Duck!" under all bridges and overpasses or you'll bump your head. Ouch.

Matt had both kids in the car with him the other day and Aeron asked daddy if he was going the "peed yimit." I guess he hadn't heard this as much as me, because he had Aeron repeat it three or four times trying to figure out what he was saying.. he thought itwas something about a "lemon." Addyson finally piped up and yelled, "Speed Limit!"

One of the first things the kids do when they go outside is ride the Jeep and Gator. They can't go fast enough (I guess they don't have speed limits), so they take them in the yard and down our hills, giggling the whole time. They are even getting really good at backing up and turning around.

Once the batteries die down in the power wheels, out come the bikes, balls and bat, basketball and hoop, shovels, or they run to the swingset. Addyson is also always hunting for worms .. we hit the jackpot this day. What's better than a handful of worms?

Aeron really helped us out with mulching last weekend. He filled up and dumped that little wheelbarrow quite a few times.
