Christmas 2009 and Laundry

We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season. We sure did. A few bumps in the road, as I'll explain later, but all in all we had a nice time spent with family. We celebrated Christmas 6 different times (5 different days, thank goodness) and each very special. Addyson and Aeron were thoroughly thrilled with each gift they opened and it was so much fun watching them. We had fun leaving goodies on Christmas Eve: cookies and milk for Santa, goldfish and water for the reindeer and even a candy cane for Rudolph.

Opening one of many gifts.. if you are wondering, yes, Santa brought the kids new shoes, socks, and PJs! I think Aeron said a few times.. "New socks wif no holes!"

So to explain the laundry title and "few bumps in the road" comment.. Matt woke up Wednesday morning sick. We are talking emptying your stomach via your mouth sick. Fun stuff. We though maybe it was something he ate.. they were numerous carry-ins at the bowling alley he feasted on throughout the week, so it was a fair assumption. It seemed to be a 24-hour thing at least, with an extra day or two of aches and pains, but no more puking. We still weren't convinced it was a bug when Aeron woke up Christmas Eve night (as in Christmas was the next morning) with something eerily familiar. Suffice to say that was a long night and Addyson was the only one who had a good night sleep. The poor girl woke up all excited Christmas morning to two very tired parents and a little brother who was no where near ready to wake up until after 10am. She sat and stared at those presents patiently waiting and asking if Aeron was awake every 10 minutes or so. Luckily by morning Aeron was feeling better.. not close to 100% by any means, but good enough to enjoy the Santa-filled day. We made it through Christmas Day and even the day after with no problems. But come the night of the 26th, it hit Addyson. By now I had changed sheets on three beds more times than I could count, and done countless loads of clothes, PJs, babies, pillows, blankets, etc .. on top of the extra loads of new Christmas clothes laundry. I don't believe I have ever done more laundry in three days. Good thing I had just stocked up on laundry detergent and Snuggle. Oh and by now we had to warn everyone we saw on all those get-togethers and apologize for any extra Christmas gifts we may have passed along. Somehow, knock on wood, I managed to get out of all that feeling fine, and the other three are also back to 100%. Like I said, a few bumps in the road, but for the most part we really didn't miss anything since it all seemed to hit at night. Nothing stops Christmas! :)

Addyson waiting patiently Christmas morning.. almost 2 hours!

In the days since, we have been enjoying all the fun things the kids received, cleaning the house, taking down decorations, letting the chaos settle a little (until New Years, that is), and I'm enjoying some time off work.

Several evenings have been spent in the garage with the new tee. With the chilly temps and snow on the ground, the garage is the best place for this right now. This might be a needed break from being indoors this winter.

Addyson did take a few swing on the tee, too, but more enjoyed swinging around the pole.

Aeron and daddy put together this guy.. Aeron loves to build and turn a screwdriver.

Addyson and her cash register.."Clean up on Aisle 5!"

A big highlight .. a leaf blower, with goggles of course.
