They spent time on the swingset, feeding the fish in the pond, cleaning up sticks, riding their scooters and bikes, shoveling gravel, climbing rocks, taking walks, coloring with sidewalk chalk.. all kinds of fun things.
Taking a break from playing..
The kids played on our rock pile for the longest time. Aeron didn't like to share his rocks with the tiny little ants that would occasionally crawl across them, though. I think I saw him do a full-body shutter one time when he watched one march across a rock. Addyson didn't really like the ants that much either, although she found several worms while digging in the dirt and carried them around for quite a while.
We even had to have breakfast outside one morning.
Okay, so we didn't spend all weekend indoors. Mommy and daddy took turns working at the bowling alley Saturday, so the kids were there for close to 8 hours .. all cooped up! There is, of course, plenty of space to run there, so don't think for a moment there was too much sitting around. Here is one of our future employees..
And here is a picture daddy sent to mommy.. this won't win us any parents-of-the-year points, but it's still funny. This would be Aeron..
..after a long day.
***A late addition:
We were outside again this evening and the kids brought me dandelions. Aeron said, "Wook, Mom, a lion cub!" Hey, he knew lion was in there somewhere .. maybe he did get into a few of those beers..
