The kids have found a new jungle gym .. the highchair legs. They crawl under here all the time and play .. even sometimes find some leftovers. Yum.
Just have to share some great news from two Akron doctor appointments Wednesday. Aeron had his checkup with nephrology for his blood pressure. He is finally off his meds! We have to do some blood pressure checks for a few weeks to make sure he will be okay without them, so I guess we aren't 100% over the hill, but we must be close. He weighed in at 20 lbs. 4 oz. Addyson went to a cranio-facial doctor, also known as a plastic surgeon, because we have always noticed that her face the slightest bit misshapen. The doctors in Wooster just wanted us to see a specialist to be sure nothing major was going on. We also wanted peace of mind. The specialist told us there is absolutely nothing wrong and this is just a very common thing with preemies as early as they were. Their bone structure is so frail in those first few months that any number of things could have happened. In any case. it should all correct itself eventually, and really it's so mild that you really have to know what you are looking for to even see it. They took some baseline pictures of her and we'll just followup with this doctor every few years. We did not have to weigh her, so we don't know how big our little girl is exactly. Anyway, nothing but good news from Akron!
Lots of pictures this week!
I was going through the kids coats and clothes and trying to figure out what we needed for winter yet and found an adorable raincoat Addyson received for her birthday from Aunt Chadia. It is just now close to fitting and she will be able to wear it for quite a while yet. Addyson must have thought it was adorable as well, because she would not let us take it off. We went to Lowe's that morning, and she had to wear it .. thank goodness it was raining a bit :) .. but she wore it in the house for the rest of the day, the next evening, and even the next. I had it hanging under one of Aeron's coats and she saw the arm sticking out and would pull on it until we put it on her. I finally hung it back up in the closet so she couldn't see it and we will get it out for the next rainy cooler day.
Aeron now loves to crawl around on his hands and knees and push around toys .. a bug toy, cars, the remote control .. anything he can find.
The kids have certain drawers they are allowed to get into .. mostly by their choice first and then we have so much trouble keeping them out of it that I clean out the things they shouldn't get into and let them explore. There is a small drawer in the bathroom with a hairbrush, which Aeron loves using, and some stretchy headbands. Both of them love to wear these brightly colored things around. They think they are so cool. Addyson does her best Jane Fonda and Aeron on the move, as usual. Don't you love how the headbands match their outfits!?
Mr Smiley! Don't you love the close-ups? You try to get a picture of this kid before he takes off towards you! :)
Here's one with him not so close up.. oh wait, Addyson is holding him back for me.
Addyson showing off her pigtails..
And here is Aeron and one of his new favorite toys. Now if only I can get him to really sweep up all that dirt..
